We need need to find this girl a new home. We are basically fostering her now.
Darla is a 13-year-old Black Lab mix. First I'll give you the not so good news, she really needs to be an only dog. She is dominant/aggressive with dogs she sees as lower than her in the pack. She has anxiety issues (storms and sometimes separation) that are under control with fluoxetine. This poor girl has been given Ace Promazine for most of her life from the previous owner. This is what has caused her emotional and sensitivity problems.
Now with that being said, she is fantastic and loving with people. She just adores humans. She is an older gal that still wants to be active and loves car rides, but is totally content just hanging out around the house with you too. She is house trained and is very used to having a doggie door. Darla is a big girl at 73lbs, but does not run you down or jump on you. We have had her for a year (on the 27th of August). The owners we took her from were not completely honest with us until after we started having issues (my own fault since I trusted and did not verify). She is in decent health. She cannot be kenneled as she will injure herself trying to get out. She also tears and rips anything she can when she is having a melt down. She's had a cracked tooth when we got her and as far as we know it was from trying to rip through a metal chain.
